Job Description
Are you interested in becoming a youth justice worker?
We are not currently recruiting new youth justice workers, but we will be soon! We regularly open applications for fresh staff at our Malmsbury and Parkville youth justice precincts, and this is where you can sign up to be notified when a campaign next opens.
You don't have to have a social work qualification, or be experienced in youth work, to do this job well. Great youth justice workers come from all sorts of backgrounds, including retail, hospitality, healthcare, trades and government. You might be surprised by how your work and life experience has set you up perfectly for this role.
The safety and security of all people in our facilities is the number one priority, but our core ambition is still to support young people to develop the confidence, perspectives, behaviours and skills that will enable them to become positive contributors when they return to their communities.
COVID-19 has altered the way people the world over live and work. However, youth justice workers are essential frontline workers, and while many new health and safety precautions have been instituted in our youth justice precincts, our staff continue to do their important work every day. It's not a job that can be done from home and it's not a job that can stop. That means these are secure roles that you can build a life around.
